Algorithms and a Visual Interface to Support Query Learning Under Uncertainty
Speaker:
Clayton Scott
Abstract:
Query learning addresses the problem of identifying a cause from observable effects, while making as few observations (queries) as possible. Many real-world applications have characteristics that do not fit the traditional query learning setup, such as persistent observation noise, and non-uniquely identifiable causes. We will present new query learning algorithms and a visual interface to support decision making under such conditions, and illustrate this system with an application to emergency response.
