White House Announces BIG DATA Initiative
The alarming rate of growth of data has caught the attention of many in the research sector and in the industry. Now, the government has officially declared their support for research and development in BIG DATA.
On March 29, 2012, the White House held their press release detailing their support for R&D in the BIG DATA field. As stated in their initiative, their commitment of $200 million is their "promise to greatly improve the tools and techniques needed to access, organize, and glean discoveries from huge volumes of digital data."
