Visual Analytics enables analyses, assessments and communications of results from analytics on large complex multi-source, multi-type information sources. This talk will provide an introduction to this science to set the stage for this forum, the history and unique rapid growth in visual analytics, examples of early systems and technologies that demonstrate the value, and open a discussion on the top technical challenges.
